Isopropanol 1l 99% is used to clean fibre optic connectors, as it evaporates quickly, leaves nearly zero traces, compared to ethanol, and is relatively non-toxic, compared to alternative solvents.
Isopropyl alcohol (commonly called isopropanol) is a colorless, flammable chemical compound with a strong odor. Isopropyl alcohol vapor is denser than air and is flammable, with a flammability range of between 2 and 12.7% in air. It should be kept away from heat and open flame. Isopropyl alcohol is a skin irritant. Wearing protective gloves and mask is recommended. Poisoning can occur from ingestion, inhalation, or skin absorption.
